My journey began in the 1970's with time spent pouring over my grandmother's Rembrandt books and the piles of pastels, charcoals and oil paints at Mom’s kitchen table. I recall a tough move in the 8th grade being a spring board for me. That's when I discovered that I had the “glasses”. The "glasses" allowed me to step away from my circumstances and see the beauty of this world with great wonder.
My mission is to share those “glasses” with you by creating paintings that revive the beautiful “stop and look” moments that often go unnoticed or forgotten. I have an infinite fascination with light and shadow and the beauty of atmosphere in everyday images we see around us. I combine that fascination with a sincere love and interest in people’s stories. In addition to creating studio work, I love to work in collaboration with clients to create custom paintings of portraits and of special moments they want to capture.
